OpenAI Hires Hollywood’s Celebrity Charm Leader:

OpenAI just hired Charles Porch as their first-ever VP of Global Creative Partnerships. He spent 15 years at Meta connecting celebrities with Instagram. The AI and entertainment worlds are about to get very close.

Things to Know:

  • Who Is Charles Porch: He spent 15 years at Instagram bringing A-listers to the platform. He once helped Beyonce launch an album on social media.

  • Why This Hire Matters: OpenAI is making a serious push into entertainment and the creator economy. This hire signals a clear next chapter for the company.

  • His Mission at OpenAI: His job is to help creatives build next-gen AI-powered products. It is about culture, not just code.

  • The Hollywood Connection: His personal network includes Harry Styles and Maye Musk. OpenAI needs allies in Hollywood, and Porch brings exactly that.

OpenAI is clearly done sitting on the sidelines of pop culture. Hiring the guy who put the Pope on Instagram is not a subtle move. This AI and Hollywood chapter is just getting started.

Trust-First AI, Built Into Your Browser

Agentic workflows are everywhere. Real trust is still rare.

Norton Neo is the world’s first AI-native browser designed from the ground up for safety, speed, and clarity. It brings AI directly into how you browse, search, and work without forcing you to prompt, manage, or babysit it.

Key Features:

  • Privacy and security are built into its DNA.

  • Tabs organize themselves intelligently.

  • A personal memory adapts to how you work over time.

  • This is zero-prompt productivity. AI that anticipates what you need next, so you can stay focused on doing real work instead of managing tools.

Amazon’s Blue Jay Robot Project Ends Quickly:

Amazon has over a million robots in its warehouses, yet somehow still managed to kill one of its newest ones in under six months. Blue Jay, the multi-armed sorting robot, is officially shelved.

Things to Know:

  • What Was Blue Jay: Blue Jay was a multi-armed robot designed to sort packages in same-day delivery centers. Amazon unveiled it in October 2025.

  • Why It Got Scrapped: Amazon now says Blue Jay was always just a prototype, though the original press release never mentioned that. Convenient, right?

  • What Happens to the Tech: The core technology behind Blue Jay is not being thrown away. It will carry over into other robotics programs at Amazon.

  • What About the Team: Employees who worked on Blue Jay have been moved to other projects inside Amazon. Nobody is out of a job, at least.

Amazon credits AI for cutting Blue Jay's development time to just one year, which is fast. It just was not fast enough to survive. Meanwhile, the Vulcan robot is still out there doing its thing just fine.

Meta Might Launch AI-Powered Smartwatch:

Meta tried the smartwatch thing before, built some prototypes with multiple cameras, and then quietly dropped the whole idea in 2022. Now they are back with Malibu 2, and Meta AI is coming along for the ride.

Things to Know:

  • What Is Malibu 2: Malibu 2 is Meta's revived smartwatch project expected to launch this year with health tracking and a built-in Meta AI assistant.

  • The Glasses Connection: The watch could replace the neural wristband used for gesture controls with Meta's Ray-Ban Display smart glasses. It is all one ecosystem now.

  • Why It Died Before: Meta dropped its original smartwatch in 2022 after running into technical challenges and cutting costs across its Reality Labs division. History, hopefully, does not repeat.

  • What Else Is Changing: Meta pushed its Phoenix mixed-reality glasses project to 2027 to space out launches. Ray-Ban Display glasses already shipped nearly six million units last year.

With Apple, Samsung, Google, Garmin, and Fitbit already owning the smartwatch space, Meta is walking into a very crowded room. But with AI baked in and a growing wearables ecosystem, they are not exactly showing up empty-handed.

Just Another Day at the Dragon Dentist:

Prompt:

"A raw, documentary-style photo on Kodak Portra 800 film, 2:3 vertical. Inside a grimy industrial hangar, an earthy-red Great Dragon's jaws are propped open with hydraulic jacks, its reptilian eye half-open with bored patience. Three workers clean its teeth: one suspended inside scrubbing a molar, one hosing the fangs from scaffolding, one mopping below. Harsh halogen and natural light, heavy grain."
