OpenAI Just Filed to Go Public Officially:

OpenAI just filed its S-1 with the SEC, and it even announced it first because, in their words, they expected it to leak anyway. Classic. The company is valued at $852 billion but is projecting a $14 billion loss in 2026 and won't turn a profit until 2029.

Things to Know:

  • The Filing Explained: A confidential S-1 is the paperwork companies file before going public. OpenAI submitted one, putting the IPO process officially in motion.

  • The Money Problem: OpenAI makes $2 billion a month and still loses $1.22 for every dollar it earns. Sam Altman has a tough sell ahead with those numbers on a balance sheet.

  • The Timeline: Altman is targeting a September listing. The public S-1 has to go live about 15 days before the roadshow, making late August the earliest realistic window.

  • The Competitor Race: Anthropic filed its own S-1 last week at a $965 billion valuation, nudging past OpenAI. This IPO race now looks like a three-way sprint with SpaceX in the mix.

OpenAI going public would be one of the biggest tech IPOs in history, and the pressure on Sam Altman is real. Investors want to see a clear path to profitability, not just hockey-stick revenue. Whether September actually happens depends on how fast the SEC moves and how patient Wall Street is feeling.

Safari Just Got a Serious AI Power-Up:

Apple just handed Safari a full AI makeover at WWDC 2026, and it actually looks useful. We are talking tab organization, custom extensions, and even automatic password updates. No coding, no stress, no tab chaos.

Things to Know:

  • Tab Groups on Autopilot: Safari can now group your open tabs by topic automatically. Planning a trip? It pulls all your travel tabs together without you touching a thing.

  • Build Extensions by Describing Them: Safari had far fewer extensions than Chrome or Firefox, so Apple fixed that creatively. You just describe what you want, and Apple Intelligence builds the extension for you.

  • Notify Me Watches Pages for You: You can now tell Safari to monitor a webpage and alert you when something changes. Price drop, product restock, whatever you care about, Safari tracks it.

  • Passwords Get Fixed Automatically: Safari now works with the Passwords app to update weak or compromised passwords on its own. It logs in, navigates to the site, and changes the password with a single tap.

Apple says none of your browsing data is shared with Apple or anyone else through any of these features. Privacy-first AI tools in a mainstream browser is the kind of thing that actually matters. Safari is starting to look like a real contender again.

Where to Invest $100,000 Right Now, According to Experts

Investors face a dilemma. When the S&P 500 finished its worst quarter since 2022 last month, diversifiers like bonds and bitcoin fell too.

Even with the turnaround in mid-April, analysts at Goldman Sachs and Vanguard have projected low-single-digit annualized returns from 2024-2034.

Bloomberg asked where experts would personally invest $100,000 for their March monthly edition.

One answer that surfaced for a second time? Art.

It's what billionaires like Bezos and the Rockefellers have privately used to diversify for decades.

Why?

  1. Appreciation. The ArtPrice100 Index outpaced the S&P 500 overall from 2000 to 2025

  2. Low-correlation. The postwar contemporary segment has moved independently of traditional investments like stocks since ‘95.*

  3. Resilience. A scarce, physical, and global asset class with decades of demonstrated demand.

Thanks to the world's premier art investing platform, now anyone can invest in works featuring legends like Banksy, Basquiat, and Picasso, without needing millions.

A Tiny Open Source Model Beat GPT-5.4:

A small research team just trained a 20-billion parameter open source model that out-searches GPT-5.4. No trillion-parameter budget needed. Just a clever idea and about 900 training examples.

Things to Know:

  • What Is Harness-1: Harness-1 is a 20B open source search agent from UIUC, UC Berkeley, and Chroma. It scores 73% on evidence recall, beating GPT-5.4's 70.9% across eight benchmarks.

  • The Secret Behind the Performance: Most search agents make the model do all the bookkeeping inside its own head. Harness-1 offloads that work to a structured external environment, freeing the model to just search well.

  • Trained on Almost Nothing: The team used only 899 filtered training examples generated by a GPT-5.4 teacher model. That is a shockingly small dataset for a model that punches this far above its weight class.

  • Free and Ready to Use: Harness-1 is available right now on Hugging Face under an Apache 2.0 license. That means you can use, modify, and build on it without jumping through hoops.

The only model that beat Harness-1 overall was Opus 4.6, which costs significantly more to run. For developers who want serious search performance without the serious price tag, this is worth paying attention to. Open source just made things interesting again.
