China released official security guidance for OpenClaw, its open-source AI agent, this Sunday. The rules cover regular users, cloud providers, and developers. Turns out even AI needs a safety manual.

Regular Users Take Note: Everyday users are told to run OpenClaw on dedicated devices or virtual machines. Storing sensitive personal data inside OpenClaw environments is a hard no.
Cloud Providers Have Homework: Cloud service providers must run security assessments and harden their cloud hosts. They also need to strengthen supply-chain and data security defenses across the board.
Developers Get Guidance Too: The guidance includes tailored best practices specifically for technical developers. It covers proper deployment, environment controls, and keeping the software updated.

Cursor Got Caught Hiding Its Model Source:
Cursor launched Composer 2 and called it frontier-level coding intelligence. What it forgot to mention was that the model started as Kimi 2.5, an open-source model from China's Moonshot AI. Oops.

How It Got Out: An X user spotted code inside Composer 2 that pointed straight to Kimi. The evidence was hard to argue with, and the internet noticed fast.
Cursor's Explanation: A Cursor VP confirmed Composer 2 started from Kimi's open-source base. He said their additional training makes it perform very differently from the original model.
