OpenAI Tipped to Add Skills Feature to ChatGPT:

OpenAI is quietly cooking up something spicy for ChatGPT. A leaked update hints at slash commands unlocking reusable skills. Think shortcuts that make your AI buddy smarter, faster, and far less repetitive.
Things to Know:
Skills Explained: Skills are bundles of instructions, scripts, and resources designed to simplify repeated tasks. Instead of retyping long prompts, users can trigger them instantly with slash commands.
Why It Matters: This feature could make ChatGPT more modular and efficient. By converting custom GPTs into skills, users gain personalized shortcuts that streamline workflows and boost productivity.
Behind The Scenes: OpenAI’s Skills are built on the agentskills.io standard, ensuring compatibility and flexibility. Developers can edit, share, and reuse skills, making ChatGPT more collaborative and customizable than ever.
ChatGPT isn’t just learning—it’s leveling up. Slash commands could turn everyday prompts into powerful skills. The future of AI feels less like typing and more like commanding magic tricks.

Pentagon Expands GenAI With xAI’s Grok Magic:

The Pentagon just announced it's adding xAI's Grok to its military AI platform. Early 2026 will see 3 million defense personnel getting access to the chatbot. Yes, the same Grok that praised Hitler this summer.
Things to Know:
Impact Level 5 Security: The Department of Defense certified xAI for handling sensitive unclassified information. Grok will operate on GenAI.mil at the highest commercial security standard.
Real-Time X Data Feed: Military personnel will get live insights from X (formerly Twitter). This gives the Pentagon what it calls a "decisive information advantage" for global awareness.
Agentic AI Workflows: Beyond basic chatting, Grok will autonomously monitor intelligence feeds and execute protocols. The Pentagon wants faster threat response times with minimal human oversight required.
This partnership follows xAI's July contract worth up to $200 million. OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic got similar deals. The Pentagon is clearly betting big on commercial AI for national defense operations.
Meta’s WhatsApp AI Monopoly Gets Checked:

Italy's antitrust authority just ordered Meta to stop blocking rival AI chatbots from WhatsApp. The investigation centers on suspicions that Meta abused its dominant market position. Meta's not happy about it, calling the whole thing flawed.
Things to Know:
The Core Issue: Italy's watchdog says Meta's contract terms completely shut out competitors from WhatsApp's platform. This could limit market access and development in the chatbot space.
Meta's Defense: The company claims their systems weren't built to handle third-party AI chatbots. According to Meta, the surge of AI chatbots put strain on the infrastructure they didn't design for this purpose.
European Coordination: The EU launched its own parallel investigation into Meta last month over identical allegations. Italy is working with the European Commission to tackle this together.
This reflects Europe's tougher approach compared to the more lenient U.S. regulation of Big Tech. The Trump administration has even criticized Europe's aggressive stance. It's another chapter in the ongoing battle between regulators and tech giants.
