YouTube Must Stop Feeding Kids AI Slop:

YouTube has a kids problem, and it's getting harder to ignore. Watchdogs are now demanding Google ban AI-generated videos from children's feeds entirely. This fight just got a lot more serious.
Things to Know:
The Demands: Advocacy groups are pushing Google to fully prohibit AI videos on YouTube Kids. They want a hard ban, not just better labels and enforcement.
What Triggered This: A New York Times investigation found over 1,000 AI videos pushed to kids, many showing characters with warped faces and misinformation.
Google's Conflict: Google invested $1 million in Animaj, an AI kids studio, while also promising to fight low-quality AI content. Mixed signals, to put it nicely.
YouTube's Response: YouTube suspended five channels from its Partner Program after the probe. Some videos were removed, but critics say that is nowhere near enough.
YouTube CEO Neal Mohan called fighting AI slop a top priority for 2026, yet Google is simultaneously funding AI animation for toddlers. The disconnect is genuinely hard to explain. Either the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, or nobody really cares.
Anthropic Accidentally Leaked Its Own Code:

Anthropic accidentally shipped its own source code inside a routine npm update. A misplaced debug file handed the entire internet 500,000 lines of Claude Code. Not the best Tuesday for the safety-first AI lab.
Things to Know:
How It Happened: A debug source map file was accidentally bundled into Claude Code's npm package update. One developer spotted it on X, and thousands downloaded it within hours.
What Got Exposed: The leak exposed nearly 500,000 lines of code, including 44 hidden feature flags. An always-on background agent and a persistent new memory system were buried inside.
What Anthropic Said: Anthropic confirmed the whole incident was human error and said no customer data was exposed at all. New safeguards are already being rolled out to prevent this from happening again.
The Bigger Problem: This was actually Anthropic's second accidental exposure in just one week. Competitors now have a detailed engineering roadmap they never had to pay a single cent for.
Anthropic called it a simple packaging error, and that is probably what it was. But leaking your source code twice in one week is simply not a good look. The internet is not forgetting this one.

Baidu Robotaxi Breakdown Sparks Safety Concerns:

Passengers in Wuhan had an unexpected adventure when Baidu’s robotaxis stalled mid-traffic. Riders were trapped on busy expressways, sparking safety concerns. The incident now threatens Baidu’s ambitious global expansion plans.
Things to Know:
Sudden Shutdown: Several Apollo Go robotaxis abruptly stopped on Wuhan’s expressways during peak traffic. Passengers were stranded for hours, with police and staff dispatched to rescue them safely.
Passenger Struggles: Riders reported difficulty contacting customer service and relied on traffic police for help. Social media posts showed stalled cars blocking lanes, causing collisions and traffic chaos.
System Malfunction: Authorities confirmed a system malfunction caused the breakdown. Baidu has not disclosed details, leaving uncertainty about how many vehicles and passengers were affected.
No injuries were reported, but the damage to Baidu’s reputation may linger. Safety concerns now overshadow its expansion dreams. Will robotaxis prove reliable enough to win global trust?
